The lads of Bay Area Vintage Base Ball met up at the Oakland Coliseum to take witness of a professional modern day baseball game this last Saturday.
Festivities started in the motor vehicle lot known as "Lot D," where the Pelicans of San Francisco showed up with their latest experiments in brewing. One growler and numerous bottles of ales and such were dispensed with as cranks wandered by in awe of high socks and stingy brimmed ball caps.
Several lady cranks showed off fine bustles and boosted bosoms to complete the scene.
Alas, the ball players became cranks as they filed into the stadium and took their seats in section 124.
The Athletics of Oakland treated them to a late inning comeback victory. walking off to a deep fly ball that was clearly placed at the request of Ferdinand Becker "Toro" Drane of the Hayward Journals.
Special recognition should be given to league VP "Dipper" Dan of the Aces for putting it all together.
